This is a SOLID Italian spot in Chicago. Small neighborhood place. Large servings. Very crowded and very LOUD. The people at the table behind us were literally shouting. But through all the chaos they managed to to provide great service. The food was solid. Tony (our family foodie) loves the conchiglie Alla sarda. I ordered the Apollo Fiorentina and husband ordered the Voldostana which has a wonderful creamy mushroom flavor. We also checked out the upstairs event space
Everything was thrown onto the table instead of placed on it. The service was passive-aggressive, more aggressive than passive. The Caprese salad was good; they used quality tomatoes, and the pasta was ok. The portions are large, so you probably will take some leftovers home.
The food was incredible with an amazing atmosphere. Rudy was the best. If you go you have to request him for sure. We will DEFINITELY be back!
I really liked the Chicken Parmesan dish when I visited in May 2025. So tasty and cooked to a very tasty meal. Also the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was recommended and it lived up to the hype.
The roast chicken with rosemary is delicious. We appreciated the large side dishes of broccoli and spinach. Attentive server and various staff stopped by to ask if we needed anything. The garganelli pasta with sausage ragu and mushrooms was bland and the pasta was overcooked. When it's crowded it's hard to have a conversation for all the noise. Lots of seating options - indoors, outdoors on street or back patio. Reservations are usually a must.
